Welcome to my corner of the web!
My name is Andrew Geerdts, and I’m an Electrical and Electronic Engineer living in Cape Town, South Africa—a city as vibrant and dynamic as my passions.
Growing up with an insatiable curiosity for how things work, I turned a childhood fascination into a career by studying Electrical Engineering at Stellenbosch University. My passion lies in using technology to create meaningful, sustainable improvements in the world around me. From designing an autonomous air hockey-playing robot to leading environmental initiatives, I thrive at the intersection of innovation, design, and impact.
Beyond engineering, Cape Town is my playground. You’ll often find me kiteboarding, surfing, cycling, running, or hiking in the breathtaking landscapes this city has to offer. These outdoor pursuits fuel my love for adventure and connect me to the environment I’m deeply committed to protecting.
Sustainability is at the heart of my ethos. A plant-based diet and a focus on green technologies are just a few ways I work toward making the world a greener place. This environmental consciousness extends to my engineering work, where I seek to create solutions that are not just functional but also kind to the planet.
